Virtual Reality as Experiential Learning to Promote STEM-DRR in Tertiary Education

Efforts and discourses of the need to integrate disaster education into a science curriculum for university students in Indonesia are well documented. However, lecturers more room introduce Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) way that involves as experiential learners. Integrating DRR Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) subjects is crucial point. The current study used virtual reality (VR) pedagogical tool learning through experience promote STEM-DRR at tertiary levels education. This experimental aimed determine effects VR use on students' based online training developed activities. methods data collection included observation survey. Ten participants were final year their recruited interest using media thesis. results showed half understood content, 40% classified knowledgeable before training. In addition, significant contributions process observed training, where satisfied with new skills attained, 80% argued was beneficial projects. Thus, present integrating content awareness risk considered successful. conclusion, suggest technology-enhanced supports distance proven economical efficient.
